apparently lots of OD folk have moved here, i wonder if that is true?
i miss the early 2010's journalling where you really got to know people and build community. i often think about people whose diaries i used to read, and wonder where their lives have taken them.

chris moved his stuff back up into the attic room today, so i can have my desk space back in preparation for my new job starting in january. it also means i get some repreive from hearing him and logan shout at each other on fifa! it was nice setting up my space again, and to be able to get my laptop out and get myself organised for 2026. we've ordered pizza for tonight as we have promised no more takeaways next year but i need to do a food shop. i am going to dedicate a freezer drawer to fakeaways instead!

the house is very quiet without laura. she's back tomorrow from her dads and then off the next day for a two night sleepover at her best friends! oh to be eleven again, and have a social life. although i am supposed to be having a social life tonight with some girls from my last job, but i forgot it was already saturday and therefore do not think it will be going ahead. time has this strange way of stretching and compressing during this post christmas week, like one of those stretch armstrong toys from the 80s.

we had no kids at christmas, so it was just us and moose. we took moose for a very cold walk on christmas day, watched some hells kitchen, and ate lobster tails. then i cooked a duck with christmas veg, and we picked a movie each. chris picked the original twisters and i picked planes trains and automobiles. it was fun because neither of us had seen the other's pick before. we finished the day with sad christmas puddings (£1 alcohol free from morrisons) that were actually very nice.

boxing day was another dog walk, and then lazing around on the sofa. i desperately wanted to nap, but my body wouldnt cooperate! we have so much cheese in the fridge i could start a second hand cheese shop.

i've been half watching ballad of a small player whilst writing this. it is very much "meh" to me. my netflix list is absolutely out of control and i really ought to be more ruthless and just take stuff off if i don't enjoy it. i am not enjoying very much since finishing every single available episode of 24 hours in police custody.

i really ought to go upstairs and start folding laundry before dinner arrives.

current read: emily wilde's compendium of lost tales.
