+ live and learn from fools and sages
Feb. 9th, 2026 08:28 pmgosh what a day.
dropped the car off at 8am for the MOT, came home and logged on to work. put my face on and looked very cute. did some more prep for my interview - i think it went okay, but i don't want to jinx it. i made them laugh a lot and really focused on building an empathetic supportive learning environment whilst being very metric driven. who knows. they thanked me for being funny - i suppose calling my spreadsheet project my baby helped. even if i didn't get it, i think it was important to try.
i started tracking calories again. and i drank water. went to get the van at lunch - passed the MOT with one advisory which is a tyre. total cost because they had to replace a bulb was £64. absolutely the cheapest MOT i have ever paid for.
i got my log on for one of the systems at work in the afternoon - woo! unfortunately i didn't get access until around 4pm. so i had an hour left to work, and then i found a problem on the system whereby some cases had been closed, but hadn't been logged as closed so were still showing as outstanding. i messaged the person that built the system and we spent 45 minutes going through how i had found the error and how we could fix it. we called in my team leader, and she said it was really good spot by me (:D) and that she couldn't wait until i was up and running fully as i was clearly very bright. i finished an hour later than i normally would, but it was worth it because i have removed 927 cases from the "to do" list just by being proactive and noticing things. this is why they should give me the job!!
made spaghetti bolognese for dinner, did the dishes, cleaned kitchen, changed bins and mopped. apparently it turns out if you adequately hydrate and eat fruit and vegetables it actually does help your brain. think i might do some skincare and go to bed early.
